Before DoberMerch had a name… before the launches, the rescue collabs, or the pack of Dobie parents repping their truth—there was one raw, scribbled phrase:

It wasn’t just a tee. It was clarity in cotton form. And like all powerful ideas, it came from the most unexpected place: a dentist’s chair and a ceiling riddle that wouldn’t leave me alone.

Where It All Began

I was 14. Lying in that dentist chair, pre-smartphones, pre-Spotify—just ceiling tiles and weird motivational posters to stare at. One of them said “mind over matter.”

I couldn’t figure it out.

Later, when someone explained it, something clicked. That simple phrase stuck with me. It cracked open a new way of seeing things—how just flipping perspective can reshape your whole world.

Looking back, that was probably the first step in a 30-year journey of self-growth. And in many ways, “Dogs Over People” is my personal remix of that same message.

Because I’ve always been more dog than crowd. More loyal than loud. More drawn to paws than people-pleasing.
