Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of whole wheat flour (you can substitute with oat flour if your dog is sensitive to wheat)
  • 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup of low-sodium chicken or beef broth
  • 1/4 cup of dry milk powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional, for flavor)
  • Cookie cutters (Christmas shapes like trees, stars, etc.)

Instructions:

  • Preheat Oven oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour and milk powder. If you're using cinnamon, add it here.
  • Stir in the applesauce, broth, and egg. Mix until the dough is well combined.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Use your cookie cutters to cut out festive shapes.
  • Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let the cookies cool completely before serving them to your dog.

Store in an airtight container for up to a week. You can also freeze them for longer storage.

Remember, treats should be given in moderation and it's always a good idea to consult with your vet if you’re unsure whether your dog can have a particular food item.

As we celebrate the festive season, we hope these Christmas dog cookies bring joy to both you and your furry companion. Remember, creating these treats is more than just baking; it's about making heartwarming holiday memories with your pet.
